Machine Learning

December 1st, 2016

From my perspective, machine learning will be the most powerful AI in the future, because as we can see right now machine learning is so effective and also helping people, Many programmer right now learn how to build a machine learning using AI concept, because many company need machine learning. I always imagine that in the future everything will be manage by machines and robots, beside machine work fast it also work perfectly and that is what people search.

My opinion that machine learning has good and bad impact. For good impact I already mention it that machine learning will help people. I have example of machine learning that help doctor improve read medical image that this technology will quickly scan medical image and prioritize abnormal result, allowing doctor to spend their time on the more difficult cases. The machine would also provide a check one human error. For bad impact is imagine that everything will use machines and robots, how about the human? where will they work when everything is use machines robots? I still can’t imagine that and I don’t know the solution. Another example of machine learning is :

  1. Facebook “People you might know” or friend suggestion. It help people to see other friend’s friend that have similar friend.
  2. Facebook Ads ranking : various events prediction, like CTR, negative feedback, conversion.

I like to build application like “Jarvis” in “Iron man” film because it will help me people help very much, help people work, decrease activity, also easy to use. Example like someone have many schedule and activities but the time gap is not much, this application will help people organize my schedule and arrange it and will announce or notify people what to do according to schedule, beside that this application is a computer that can talk to human like a real human and will be easy to coordinate with. Right now we have “cortana” in windows or “siri” in apple but it can be upgraded into powerful machine learning like “Jarvis”.

When we go to college or any other school, we must be through some orientation. And in Binus we call it FEP (Fresh Enrichment Programm), in here we learn how to prepare ourselves to be able to follow the education system in college. In Binus new student or new comer called Buddy and we have our Buddy Coordinator (BC), our BC is helping and introduce us about what things to do in Binus so we can graduate on time. Not only that, through FEP you can also find some new friends

FEP is devided to three steps, first is general orientaion which is the first orientation we got from our BC that contents briefing (explain by BC Poe an BC Yogo), Binusian Journey (explain by BC Billy, Aldo, adn Willy), Binus Maya (BC Carissa and Brandon), Registration and PU (BC Benedict and Chandra).

Briefing

In briefing our BC is plaining what rules or things we have to follow, like use white shirt and black trousers (not jeans). They also give us Binusian Flazz Card that use for our absence and buying things with this card. We also learn how to sing Mars Binus and Mars Binusian, also Yel-yel Buddy.

Binusian Journey

Binusian Journey is explain about Graduate Attributes which is needed like Soft Skills, ICT Skills, EES (Employability and Entrepreneurial Skills). In this session we’ve been told that if you wanna be success not only your hardskills need to be improve but your soft skills is also needed like, team work, self management, communication, problem solving and decision making, planning and organizing, and initiative and enterprise.

Binus Way

Binus Way is explain about Binus history why now Binus is big and become a world class university. We also know about Binus’s vision and mission which is sound “A world-class university in continuous pursuit of innovation and enterprise“. Not only that we also explained about values and culture in Binus that consist of Trust in God, Tenacious Focus, Freedom to Innovate, Far Sighted, dan Embrace Diversity.

Binus Maya

Binus Maya is a special website for Binusian which serves as additional media for online learning (Learning Management System), for media information services academic and non-academic (Self Services Information). We need to often check our Binus Maya for information and schedule regularly.

ORGANIZATION SKILLS

General Organizing Skills

Employees in the workplace must have general organizational skills, which allow them to determine the supplies they need, how to arrange their files and whom to contact for specific information. Managers who work with employees will often organize the work of employees to keep them busy, especially those that require a lot of direction, like file clerks or contract workers.

Planning

Planning is a needed workplace skill, and it is particularly important as person advances into more supervisory or managerial roles. Most work is centered around certain projects that must be completed within a specific time period. Projects are usually divided into many different tasks, and workers must plan their tasks ahead of time to bring the project to fruition. A person can also plan ahead in case certain problems come up that could potentially delay the project.

Scheduling

Scheduling involves allocating a time period for specific tasks or workload, and then assigning tasks to certain employees. For example, small restaurant and retail businesses must be able to schedule the appropriate amount of workers on different days depending on busy times. It is important to account for peak periods when scheduling, according to the article “Seven Best Practises For Employee Scheduling” at HR Directory, an online human resources reference. Managers must also schedule dates for specific project tasks to be completed. Many small company managers use organizers to stay on track with their assignments.

Coordinating Resources

Coordinating resources is another important organizational skill in the workplace. Managers must know how to coordinate both internal and external resources. For example, a marketing manager often hires a marketing research agency to conduct surveys, tabulate the results and deliver the data tables. Subsequently, the marketing manager analyzes the data, writes the report and prints or emails it to upper management to complete the project. Managers must also know how to use internal resources. For example, a manager that has an invoice about an overdue bill from a vendor will need to see accounts payable to resolve the issue.

Meeting Deadlines and Time Management

One of the most important organizational skills is the ability to meet deadlines and use time wisely. It usually takes a little experience before a manager can properly assign tasks, allocate resources and complete a project on time. Meeting deadlines requires time management skills, which is an important organizational skill itself. Managers that meet deadlines consistently have the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate and be productive, according to Reference for Business
